Coin stock could always be rolled too thin or too thick - the Mint wasn't going to toss wrong thickness rolls - that would cost them money as they rolled their own coin stock.
I once weighed a bunch of worn Barber quarters. Some had lost over 5% of their original weight. It's certainly possible that an SLQ could be worn down to 6.025 grams. Your coin looks genuine and original to me, just worn.
