Hi, Per Freds suggestion, here's a list of the silver dollars that I have now to sell for my Uncle. The rest of his coins went well on ebay, but if you could tell me which of these you think would be worthwhile to get authenticated before listing them, I surely would appreciate the help. I just don't want to spend 20 or 30 dollars on a coin that's only worth 40, I'm sure you understand. 1878,1878s,1878cc---1879,1879s,1879o,1879cc---1880,1880o,1880s,1880cc---1881,1881o,1881s---1882,1882o,1882s,1882cc---1883,1883o,1883s---1884,1884o,1884s---1885,1885o,1885s---1886,1886o---1887, 1887o---1888,1888o---1889,1889o---1890,1890o,1890s,1890cc---1891, 1891s, 1891o---1892o, 1892s, 1892cc---1893cc---1894o---1896,1896o,1896s---1897,1897o,1897s---1898s---1899o---1900,1900o,1900s---1901o---1902---(3)1921,1921D,1921s---1922,1922D,(2)1922s---1923,1923D,1923s---1924---1926s---1927s---1928,1928s---1935,1935s He's got a few Eisenhowers that I'll list as a lot next week. His dollars are all circulated, and some are shiny and bright, all show wear, but some more than others. I don't want to impose with a ton of pics here, but if you could let me know which would be worth spending some of his money to send away to be authenticated, keeping in mind that they'll be selling on ebay, I would be so grateful!!! Thanks for your help, Alice

Good Morning Bryan, OMG I sat down to watch the news for a few minutes and crashed out on the sofa for the night!! LOL. Thank you soooooo much for looking at the list of Uncles coins!! It really helps me so much!! I've sold all kinds of collectables on ebay the last couple of years, and love doing it!! But all these coins have been overwhelming!! I've really had to depend on my pics to sell them, because my knowledge is limited to say the least. All the buyers have been pleased, and no one sent anything back (my biggest worry). Of course I'll send you my ebay name. (Don't know if I can write it in here). Just click the envelope above, right? Never even noticed that there before. Again, thank you for your suggestions. Tomorrow I'll start packing them up, and figure out where I'll send them. Read up on ANACS for a few minutes last night. Have some questions. Looks like I have to set the value right? Uggggg LOL!!! Can I put them all in one box? I have that double die Lincoln Penny to send too. I have to print the form out so I can read it better. Once I send them out, I can take pics and start listing the rest of them. OK, I'll drop you a line now. Thank you!!! Alice

Hi Alice-- As Bryan said, all the CCs in any condition. Plus, presuming they're in AU or better condition, these Morgans: 78, 83S, 85S, 86O, 87O, 89O, 90O, 90S, 91, 91O, 91S, 92O, 92S (VF or better), 94O, 96O, 96O, 97O, 98S, 00S; Peace dollars: 1928 in any condition; 28S, 35S. Many of the above will have to have a grade estimate on them; if they're really worn and depending on the mint mark, they may not be worth the bother if they're below Almost Uncirculated. You might want to drop down to your local Walmart or magazine store and pick up Coin Values AND Coin Prices magazines. They both list values by date, mintmark, and condition; Coin Prices also lists the mintages, but Coin Values has better photos (and some good articles). Con Prices also has pictures of Morgans in the circulated grades. I use these as general guidelines in addition to the online sources mentioned in the previous threads. All of these list the highest values and, at least for less common coins, their (high) values in slabs. They tend to be 15% TO 25% (often more) above actual ebay market value. Very nice and relatively complete collection! Fred

Hi Fred, Thank you for looking at them and giving your valued thoughts on the coins. I'm heading down to take mom and aunt to the mall. Will run into the book store and see if they have the magazine you suggested. That will really help me to set my guestimate prices for them, and for insurance on the box too. Thank you!!! Alice

First of all, Alice, you've already gotten some really savvy advice here so there's little need for me to add much detail. Some of the Morgans are dates which have rare and more valuable VAM varieties, especially some of the New Orleans examples. That 1928 Philadelphia Peace dollar is the lowest-mintage year for the Peace dollar, and could be worth a couple-three hundred bucks if almost uncirculated. You didn't mention - are any of the 1921's Peace dollars? They carry some pretty significant worth themselves. I would be remiss ( ) if I didn't express my personal interest in the 1921's, if they're Morgans. That's my little sub-specialty. Since you'll be taking pics of the coins for the auctions anyways, bring them here first for opinions as to condition and variety. I wouldn't normally recommend that, since an online coin forum is populated by people who collect coins and would prefer to collect them as cheaply as possible, but this is a very special community here. You won't be led wrong by these people. By the way, you now have enough posts to offer coins for sale and trade in the forum here. Further, add me to the list of those who want to watch the ebay auctions for these coins. I'm not afraid to pay what a coin is worth.

Hi Dave, Nice hearing from you!! I just took a peek at them and one of the 1921s is a Peace dollar (had to check to see what they looked like) LOL NICE CROWN on the ladies head!! The others are Morgans like the older ones. Unfortunately Aunt and Uncle ran out of the plastic holders after the 21's and the rest were in those little yellow envelopes which seemed to take away the nice shiny finish. A few of the older ones were in those envelopes too. Tough to figure out their strategy for importance of encasing them in the plastic, but I'm happy that the majority were protected! I just got back from picking up mom and aunt at the mall and got a coin magazine. Hopefully that will help me with prices. I've got a lot of "irons in the fire" right now. Am cleaning out moms attic at her old house and hoping to have a sale there 2 weekends from now (I can't sell everything on the Bay) no time. So, I'll probably start taking pics towards the middle of the week. I'll put some of them in here, but I don't want to be a pain either. I have a few of his quarters and dimes on right now. Will send you my ebay name in a minute. Thanks, Alice
