Twangator Valued Member United States 153 Posts	Posted 09/28/2009 11:19 am Hello, found this one in a bank roll. It's a 1973-d JFK Half. It has 2 areas where it looks like it got clipped, if you look at it side ways it gets thiner in the clipped areas on the reverse it also has a double rim right in the area where the 2 clips occured. Does anyone have any more info on this type of error? Does it carry a premium over face value? Report this Post to the Staff

Without a picture, there is no way to tell if it has any blakesly effects. The denticles don't seem to be beat down, just no metal available to be squeezed tightly against the collar. Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 09/29/2009 8:32 pm They are clips and probably about the smallest I've ever seen. The edge shots are what convinced me. They show the "edge smear" inversion that is characteristic of clips on clad coins. Note in the third picture as you go from left to right first the edge is showing the Copernickel on top and the copper below until you get to the area of the clip where it inverts and the copper is on top with the coppernickel underneath. Then as you move further to the right and leave the clip area the layers invert again. The fourth picture shows the same thing. Report this Post to the Staff
