I thought I'd post this is in my toned coins thread, as it shows some nice toning, but after looking at it, I decided it should have a thread of its own. I have a really nice 1979 Rosie I found while going through my whitman album, and I am sure it has Full Bands. And I just looked at the PCGS price guide, and it has an ms-64 FB at $125 and ms-65 FB at $825. Do you think this has full bands and is worth sending into a TPG? And what grade would you give it? Thanks. By the way it looks way better in hand.

I can't grade, but even the pros might have a difficult time grading those photos.

If you might sell the coin at some point, and if there is any possibility that it's an ms-65 FB at $825, I would send it off to a TPG.

Sorry I just realized this is not a FB, I didn't know the bottom band and the top band count.

yeah I was gonna ask how the bottom band looked

and a trick I use some times is I will rotate the coin 90 degrees

some times one way will show details better than the other

I wouldnt send it in for grading unless you think it is going to grade ms66 or higher. Roosevelts arent worth near what the guides say except for certain years in full bands/full torch. 1979 is one of the tougher years with the designation. I like the colors on your coin. I could give it a good home in my toned Roosie album if you decided to let it go.

Yeah, later when I reach being a member for 14 days, I'll probably auction it off or sell it, I don't really have an interest in Rosies.

Okay here's some better pics. I'm pretty sure its not full bands, but its a really nice coin, with some really nice toning that didn't show up in the pics. I was wondering what you guys would grade this at:

It looks MS-63 to me - I see some slight nicks.

I guess what I am saying is, save your money, and don't send it in because I am pretty sure that wouldn't pass at FB anyway!

Okay here's the pics of the dimes for Erwindoc. The dimes look way, way better in hand, and the scratches and nicks on the 85-P are not on the coin. Sorry for the bad pics, I was in a hurry:
