Maybe not the most explicit explanations but since the
Red Book by Whitman Publishing is so popular, the 2010 edition on pate 9 gives a decent explantion of coin conditions. A book that should help out with the basics. As to values, that is the one book you should
not use though. But if you do, just deduct about 25% of what it shows. If your not an expert, not planning on selling those coins, only want an idea of values, the
Red Book should help a lot.
I'm a rather lousy grader of coins but since I do not sell them, makes little difference if I'm off a little here and there. Still it is nice to have an idea of what they are worth.
