These folks seem to have quite a few going off between $18 to $19 a piece on their auctions.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWNX:IT

I know some where on this thread people spoke of 15 to 16 for Morgan's and I was just thinking since these are supposed to be au 2 or 3 dollars more would not be a bad idea or am I totally missing something here?

Thanks

Peace

I'm no pro by any means but what I seen was:

"Stock photo....They may have weak strikes, slight toning, or other minor defects typical of coins in this grade".

Which may or may not be good, but I want to see the actual coin I'm buying.

I too saw that. But I am going to go in for one of them and take my chances. Hopefully the coin is not banged up or have major dings.

I've watched this seller for a long time - I look at every single 1921 Morgan on ebay - and he does some serious business. He's done 2400 auctions in the last two weeks, and very, very few of them went unsold. Three out of the first 400 I looked at, to be precise.

Feedback isn't bad, but there's a lot of Neutrals and a couple worth reading:

I've had no experience with this seller but avoid any seller who can't represent what they have to sell.. I think they may sell under a different ID as sell saratoga something can't say so for sure....always slightly out of focus for us treasure hunting dreamers...I just pass them by....

Thanks superdave, I ended up going in for 2 Morgan's and 2 Peace dollars and averaged out at 18 per coin + SH. One of the Morgan's I got went off at $16.50.

I have a feeling these folks ended up with a boat load of coins which they are getting rid of at any price as they probably got them from some old time hoarder for melt value or less. As the feed backs state some are going to be good, some so so and am ready for such an outcome. I will update as to what they look like in about 2 weeks when I get them. Based on the feed back the shipping dept looks to be backed up.

As a side note - Sometimes I think folks go into these ebay auctions with HIGH expectations and when it does not to their expectations look for any excuse to blame someone. I have got stuff from the US Mint which at times looks like it has been kicked about.

I can get on board with that sentiment. Not all Negative feedback is deserved. Furthermore, not everyone knows the difference between a circulated Morgan and a poorly-struck Morgan.

I just received yesterday a 1941 Walker from this seller. Stock photo and all the weak strike and stuff in the description. The coin was actually pretty nice. Blast white 63/64.

Joker, does it anyway look cleaned or have any MAJOR negatives going for it? From the sounds of it you seem to be happy which is a good thing.
Thanks
Peace

No, it was surprisingly a nice problem free coin.

Ok so I ended up with 2 - 21 Morgan's along with 22, 23 and 24 Peace dollars.

One of the Morgan's has a small ding above the eye which is noticeable and all have minor bag / contact marks which I expected (not bad for 80+ year old coins). Else the coins are problem free and as Joker described it's blast white. For a comparison look at any 2010 ASE's for the luster. My only regret is not running into this seller earlier as most of his / her good stuff is gone and prices on the auctions have slowly crept up.

Although I am new at this one thing for sure is that these coins have never seen circulation. Ergo their claim of un circulated is legit.

Superdave, where would I find more info on weak strikes? To me they look fine except the reverse of the 23 Peace which may fall into this category. Then again, my son thinks the 23 and 24 (peace) are the best of the entire lot. To me the 22 looks good also.

Joker - were the walkers on auction or BIN's when you got yours and how much were they going for (if I may)? Most of them now are bins with no specific dates (description states 41 to 46 may be 30's once in awhile).

Peace

Those do seem like great prices for MS dollars. I wish I knew about this seller earlier.

I'm glad it worked out for you Ceylon. You're a lot more trusting than I am. I have just been burned too many times. I guess everybody shouldn't be lumped into that category.

According to ebay rules, when selling coins you are NOT allowed to use any type of stock photos. Do everyone a favor by reporting them.

I just realized that this seller was originally "Mikescoins". I don't know how to feel about this as if I would have known that originally I probably wouldn't have bought from them. On the other hand the transaction did go smoothly this time. Maybe old Mike finally learned his lesson after getting booted by ebay with 3 other accounts.
