Obviously, this would require a lot of saving on my part, but it might be worth it. Anyway, my question is what gold coins are actually out there and available at a price reasonably ($50 or so) above spot? And for those of you out there that collect gold coins, where do you get them? The dealer, ebay, Heritage... Thanks for your help. Report this Post to the Staff

I don't have an answer to your question but if you are looking for a long term investment I would go for the older gold coins that were issued for circulation rather than the newer bullion coins. Bonedigger Pillar of the Community United States 1267 Posts	Posted 07/17/2006 8:54 pm You have to remember the older (pre 1933) gold coins are only .90% or less gold and the newer "bullion" coins are .999% or more gold.
