I'm glad I was corrected. I'm not sure why I was thinking what I said. You guys are definitely right. Would it make a difference since mine is 1927 and this one is 1913?

I think mine is the most common; yours is probably worth a bit more.

I like the second set of photographs - I like the color in the first, but they look a little soft or something - the detail comes out better in the second. And a black or dark gray background wouldn't hurt!

Beautiful coin!

Prethen, I have a slabbed and graded 1913 $2.5 but I can't get a decent picture, would a scan of it be of any use to you to compare yours to?

A scan might work, if you have a good scanner.

I bought the coin in a 2X2 that stated it was an AU53. Based on what several people have said, on and off this board, it could possibly slab as a 55 or 58. It really doesn't matter, since it's what I call a "commodity coin". They're quite available in all upper circulated and lower mint state grades and the price differences are pretty minor on the lower end. I'm happy to have a good coin with decent eye appeal.

I don't know how good a scanner it is (my sisters) but I'm going to try scanning a few of my coins anyway. Mine is AU58 btw.

AU53 would be conservative but it's tough to judge the luster in images. Looks like a nice one!

I just wanted to let you know that scanning my coins didn't turn out very good. I'll have to mess around with the scanner and see if I can get something worth posting. Otherwise I need to improve my photography skills!

Some rubbing is acceptible in 62 grade and I don't see much. Nice luster from what I can see. Eye appeal is nice. Very nice strike. Easily a 62 maybe 63.
