chadcoins Pillar of the Community Canada 1159 Posts	Posted 10/15/2010 11:29 pm This is an interesting coin set.The Santa 25ct has no mint mark and the rest of the coins in the set have mint marks.The mint is starting to make coins with no mint marks.Find it odd to mix up a coin set like this.GIRT should be GIFT! Other recent releases missing it are: - Navy 100 loonie - Roughriders 100th loonie - Poppy silver dollar So, both circulation and non-circulation are missing the mark. Report this Post to the Staff
splatto Valued Member Canada 426 Posts	Posted 10/28/2010 3:20 pm I believe in oneo f the recent issues of CCN, the RCM was quoted as saying that standard issues will continue to have the MM whereas commemorative issues - ie navy, riders, santa - will not. Report this Post to the Staff

Yes, but remember, both are commemorative releases and not the standard issues. It's easy to get confused, but the key here is not circulation issues vs. collectors issues. Essentially, any coin with the standard maple leaf / beaver / schooner / caribou / coat of arms / loon / polar bears will still have the M mint mark.
