When I roll search I keep anything 1969 or earlier, roll them up and put them away. I've noticed myself buying any 1859 1 cent that is affordable as well with the hopes it has an overlooked wide or double stamped 9.

I was wondering if there are coins you always buy (price dependant) when you see them?

YES! I too will buy something I really want.(In a reasonable price range)+ I keep all 1979 & earlier cents while roll searching.I don't know why.I just like adding to my collection I guess.(Same as nickles 1979 & earlier)

when roll searching I usually keep anything '69 and older. I keep an eye open for the bust of the young queen as a rule of thumb.
when buying I like anything around '39 and older

I don't always buy, but will get them often - 1967 coins. They are really what got me started with coin collecting when I was a kid and I've always had a certain fondness for them. Funny my fiancée was born that year too so I guess it's not only coins.

I like to buy NFLD 5 cents dated 1865-1888 when they are available.

I find myself spending money I shouldn't on bags of wheat pennies as I come across them, I've hurt myself doing this a few times........

My thought is to buy anything that really looks good for a fair price and any key coin. Keys can always be sold, everyone will buy an extra 1923 cent if it's fairly priced. Good looking coins dated below 1936 - something VF is usually a very safe bet.

I always buy pre-1936 silver coins around bullion price.

I keep all pre-82 pennies. I am looking for 2009 P and D nickels also. Other than that I look for silver. But just look on here for more coins in modern circulation. (I also look for the wisconsin error State Quarter)
