I can only guess on this one. Is ST of STATES on the reverse worn off, someone pulling a joke,removed it and put it back into circulation, worn or broke die or what?

I'm no expert on errors, but from what I know of them - I assume the S and T on the die were filled with grease when they struck the coin. Cool find!
