it is plated, and pretty much worthless, unless those are black and white pics.

Looks plated to me, sort of like those "reprocessed" '43 steel pennies. Some people have too much time on their hands and will do strange things to coins just because they can.

Are those scans correct as far as the position of the coins obverse and reverse ? Or was the coin just randomly placed on the scanner bed when you scanned both sides ?

Hi All,
It is definitely plated. It's worth whatever the melt value is on a cent, minus a little because someone would claim that the plating makes the melting of the coin more difficult :-)

I have one as well. I think they got mixed in with some 43's during someones re-plating process.

Some plating companies plate cents and give them to their customers to show evidence of their work to drum up business. I have a gold plated one.
