My wife gave me a handful of cents picked up off the floor at her sons appartment to go through. This was one of them:

1957-D-LWC-Repunched-MM

As far as I can tell, it is 1957D-1MM-020 as shown on coppercoins website. It has all the markers except for chip and crack on the right hand wheat ear. I assume this coin is an earlier die state.
I can provide more pictures if anyone wants to see anything specific on the coin.

It just shows that you never know where a die variety will show up!

Nice find! I agree with your assessment that its a 1957D-1MM-020. I have a ton of fun searching for these and its even sweeter when you can match a variety up to specific die number.

If your wife's son is like mine, he won't miss that coin one bit:). Thanks for posting!

Overlay of the two images confirms it as 1957D-1MM-020. Dead on. Nice find.

That's sooooo cool that your wife brings you her change, just like mine! Sometimes I'll deeply engrossed in thought or computer, and a sweet voice breaks through "Honey- is this date anything important to you?"

It's moments like these that I realize there actually IS something far more important that coins. My family is so on-page, I never have to worry about losing sight of that.

Sounds like you've got your priorities figured out too, Dave. THIS is the sort of thing that I find exciting. The heartwarming, genuine stuff in life, where friends and family are brought closer together through our own first love.....

Sorry to get all mushy on you- if anyone disagrees, please holler!

Dave42: Thanks for including all of the digits on the date and a good portion below the mint mark. With all the date it is easier to make the date horizontal first to make an overlay. That really helps.
