I know a few here collect the Walking Liberty half dollar. The 1921-P Walker is one of the key dates and one of the most altered coins in the series. At any given time there are many listed on ebay. The 1921-S Walker's mint mark is removed to make the 1921-P; the reason for this is money the 1921-P is a lower mintage coin and sales for a lot more money. They are very easy to spot, just look for tooling marks at the mint mark area on the 21-P

Thanks for the tip 50cents, I only have a couple of the Walking Liberty's in my collection, but I will keep this in mind when I am ready to expand them.

Is this information from a article or from personal experience? It is just despising that forgers would take perfectly good coins and ruin them.

This is from personal experience. The Walker you see here was purchase by a fellow collector here in town. I looked at ebay today and counted 5 altered 1921-P's
with bids. This has been going on for years.
