Can You Acid Date Shield Nickels Well? Any Experiences?

Keep in mind, acid dated coins have enormous value deductions...more so then they deserve IMO. I've seen semi-key acid date buffalos sell for $4. Report this Post to the Staff
coinguybrian Rest in Peace United States 5375 Posts	Posted 10/08/2011 09:43 am Yeah, they only sell for 10%; 20% at best if theyre real nice and you find the right buyer. Its a gamble with Shield nickels though...because they actually have some value dateless ($2-3 at least in most cases) as opposed to dateless buffalos that are worth 10 or 15 cents. penny man Pillar of the Community United States 659 Posts	Posted 10/15/2011 4:06 pm I got a nickel that way so worn down, it literally had no detail left. I soaked it is vinegar for a while, and it was an 1867 no rays Shield nickel. I did pretty well for face! Report this Post to the Staff
