After seeing the posts about the fake CC coins here, I looked at my 1883 CC and wonder. Can I get some opinions here?

I think it's fine, I just posted an 83 for grading and the first letter in the mintmark is identicle.....just think you may have some PMD on the second C

Thanks. You've got some good looking CC coins there. And I agree, it's great to look at them and think about where they've been. Where I saw that last week I got mine to look at as well.

Ok, so now what's " PMD"

PMD - Post Mint Damage....could have been hit with something that would make the C look like that.

The second C of CC and D of DOLLAR are consistent with PMD (post mint damage).
Looks fine :)

He He, shot them with my blackberry, saw somebody talking about their i-phone so thought I'd try it... fixed them with Photoscape which I also heard about here. I've learned a ton of stuff here since I started over the weekend

thanks!
