1796 Coin - Coin Community Forum

fschipani New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 05/12/2012 2:01 pm I was wondering if anyone could help me identify this coin. The front states 1796 and their is either a liberty head with a bow or a gentleman in a wig. There is writing on the top but I can't make it out. It doesn't look like liberty but I can't tell. On the back, there is a standing figure holding something (a spear?) to his/her right. I have posted pictures but the picture quality isn't good. I would appreciate any help identifying it.
