I don't normally collect error coins, but when I came across this high grade 1944-P War Nickel I had to buy it.

Is this a lamination or some other sort of error?

Any idea what a coin with this sort of lamination is worth?

Thanks for any help with it.

Looks like an lamination issue. A shot at the edge might help us to see how much is peeling off?

Here's a shot of the edge and the reverse. I hope the edge shot is helpful.

The coin looks like it's a Choice AU, maybe BU. I don't think the lamination would have survived for long in circulation.

I won the coin on ebay for $10 (including shipping). That's why I am wondering what a lamination error like this might be worth.

Thank you for posting the price. I think $10 is a very good price,on the right day to the right person $15-$20 would not be out of the question.Nice buy.
