My initial suspicion is 1944 D RPM - Coneca: RPM-002, but every time I guess I find out its a die chip or PMD. To the variety scholars here, please let me know your thoughts. Thanks

It looks like a very slight machine damaged issue on your coin. I see no separation, just coin from the die that reduced that area.
The 002 shows a separation.

I know as I took that image.

On your second image on the lower loop you can see the metal striations on that loop indicating the die moved in that direction during the strike.
