I am brand new to coin collecting and wanted to find out more about some of the foreign coins I have. These coins have been mixed into rolls of coins that have come out of penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and half dollar boxes.

Also these pictures came off a HP Officejet 4620 Scanner. If anybody can give me help on how to improve my pictures I would love to hear from you. I want to add a background color, but don't know how.

It's a Panamanian 1/2 Balboa. The year is on the other side of the coin.

The Panamanian balboa is on par with the US dollar; that half-balboa is therefore equivalent to a half dollar. They're the same size and specs, too, so you'll often find them mixed up with American halfs.
