That's not surprising at all. I have never considered roll hunting quarters and never will, you searched 72 rolls and found nothing. I heard of a guy that looked through 20 boxes and found nothing as well. There's almost as much hope of finding a silver quarter as there is of trying to get pennies from a Canadian bank. Its 2015 and quarters and roll hunting don't mix.

Searching quarters is probably good for building Statehood or ATB sets, but not for finding silver. |

You have better chance of finding a silver quarter, if you drive around town checking all coin machine reject slots...

It has been a long long time since I found a silver quarter
in rolls/change.

should search for varieties and rotated dies - they are worth way more than finding a silver quarter

Quarters are good if you need to fill some holes in your state/ATB folder, but are otherwise a waste, IMO.

Quarters are hit and miss, over the last 35 years I've seen multiple solid silver rolls found, and when I do hit quarters my silver rate is about 1 silver per $500-$700 searched.

I average 1 silver per 1000$ or so. It's the only denomination I quit doing anymore
I was lucky enough to find some 30's and 40's in addition to the 50's and 60's one

I've "side searched" (examined the length of clear wrapped Brinks rolls) at minimum $10k (20 boxes) of quarters since January of this year. I've found 0 silver. Once I thought I had, but after breaking it out, turned out to just be a foreign coin.
I have however found an average of 1 silver dime per 5 boxes ($1250) searched using the same method. 4 dimes so far. All were 1964.

My son has only found two sliver quarters in many years of roll searching. Not worth it in my opinion. I need a better work/reward ratio.  |
