Neat, haven't gotten stars above ones from circulation before myself.
The damage though!

I have it listed on local site. Hopefully I can get some dimes for trade and of course the 100 back for it

I am not a bill collector at all, besides a few $10 gold notes... can someone explain what is special about this? Is it the star after the serial number? Thanks!

Yep! It's the star.
Some replacement notes have short runs and so there aren't millions of them out there.
I keep them just for the fun of it. Evenutually, I will have to use them, but for now...keepers!

Hmmmm.... I had absolutely no idea, I'll have to google that and find out more about them. I bet if they're uncirc they might be worth more? Thanks for the info!

Came from print run 2 (G-2) with 3,072,000 printed, which is high for star notes. If this came from print run 3 or 4 you would have a keeper. They had 768,000 and 160,000 printed, respectively. Uncirculated examples normally command a premium, but if they are from high print runs the premium is usually very small, if any.

I just deposited 4, $100s with stars that were 3.2M runs...not worth keeping.

Quote: berto I just deposited 4, $100s with stars that were 3.2M runs...not worth keeping. I've kept the only C-Note with a star I've come across because it completed an entire denomination collection of star notes for me. (1,2,5,10,20,50 and 100) If I come across a better one, I'll switch it out. The $2.00 was the most difficult. My next star note collection will be to have a one from each federal reserve bank. I know this thread could be moved to the note collecting board, but I recommend keeping it here to, perhaps, entice some newcomers into the note collecting game.
