Wood Grain Penny - Coin Community Forum

parkay Valued Member Canada 287 Posts	Posted 12/18/2015 4:11 pm What would cause the wood grain appearance on this PL small cent? I have never saw one this way. Apparently the mint lacquered pennies to keep their luster in mint sets. So I am wondering if this is the case with your coin? Report this Post to the Staff
