Hi there. This is my first question post as a member! I have been fortunate enough to come across a small stash of 1964 XWL nickels. In looking them over I have found a few which all have an additional "spike through the denticles" over the "Z" on the obverse. These few also show a light doubling of the "TH II". I'm wondering firstly if anyone has come across an XWL with these extra errors. Secondly I wonder if anyone might have a formula to access the value of a given coin with some kind of multiplier to account for additional errors or varieties? I know there will be no golden rule where this is concerned. I'm just looking for a good rule of thumb, somewhere to start from. Thanks in advance.

Oh, in addition.... On the same coin it looks to me as thought the "E" in "CENTS" shows doubling, or is this accumulations?

Please post photos of the complete reverse and obverse as a starting point on any specific coin(s). ...and a nice blowup of the xwl's would be nice for us here.. ..and welcome aboard.. How many in that new stash..?..because they are tough ... I'll let the "values experts" try to answer that question.. . .

I don't think the spikes would make a difference in the demand to generate a higher price. The extra water line itself trumps them. Nice coins and good score. I've been looking for one of these for a long time and as mentioned above they're tough to find.

Thanks for the welcomes and the thoughts everyone! It was quite a find indeed. My jaw was on the floor as I peeled XWL after XWL out of the coin tube! I didn't get to sleep until about 4:00 am that morning! I just sent a package of 7 to grade yesterday. I went with the 4 best regular XWL's and 3 with the additional errors. I wonder if they will get designated on the flip? Very exciting, I'll be praying MS65 over and over for the next 2 weeks. And for anyone looking for a nice one don't worry, I'll make it onto the trading post one day. Thanks again!
