What is the single most desired/sought after VAM?
Maybe 1888-O VAM 1B?

1878p VAM 44 is known as "the king of vams" so if you were going for a broad answer its that one. Everybody's dream VAM is different though

I would have to say the most recognizable by 98% of all VAM Collectors as well as the number of people that would fall over each other to optain would be the 1889 P VAM 23a

It really depends on who you ask, but the 78 VAM 44, 88-O VAM 1B (later stages), and 89 VAM 23A mentioned are probably on everyone's "must have" list.

I just handled a raw unc v44a at long beach yesterday. It was glorious. I was just browsing a dealer's table and he said "I think this is one of those 44's." My jaw dropped as I played with it for an exuberantly long time. I said come with me and took him to go see John Roberts. It was a very cool experience!

VAM gods I tell you! They must see me as some kind of plaything
