chuckster 125 Pillar of the Community United States 4113 Posts	Posted 09/02/2008 10:43 pm Just found this as I finished off nickel rolls and switched to cents. 199'9 LMC. looking cent (IMHO) Its a die chip, not a gas bubble, did the Mike Diamond/BJ Neff "toothpick test"- its solid- nothing moved/flexed etc. Report this Post to the Staff

A die chip would not only be connected to a device (the field doesn't just chip, there has to be a reason), and die chips always have very sharp edges. Report this Post to the Staff

livingdinasaur Pillar of the Community United States 1571 Posts	Posted 09/03/2008 01:12 am Mym thought is that it is a DENT. It is too symetrical for a bubble, or a gouge. Something pretty well rounded on the end had to have dit pretty hard to make a nice dent like that. on that link ED gaveA worn slot-head screwdriver could make a mark such as that, for example. GAS BUBBLE I went back and re-did the "toothpick test" one more time, to be sure it was solid etc, and look what happened ----it burst and flattened! See new photo AFTER THE RE-TEST!
