That's just Machine Doubling, not even close to the big DDO. If the mintmark has identical doubling, then it is not a doubled die. Doubled dies from before 1990 would not affect the mintmark as the mintmark was added to the die separately.

Machine Doubling is shelf-like doubling. Die Deterioration Doubling is the ghost-like doubling.

What "reputable auction" would tell you to get this graded? They may be reputable, but they are not knowledgeable. Do not get it graded, it is not a doubled die or an RPM.

Yep, it's not the famous Doubled Die Obverse.

Note how Machine Doubling reduces the size of the devices?

As mentioned already the 1969-S cents had a lot of Machine Doubling on them. The doubled die also have a lot of Machine Doubling on them:

The yellow arrows are Machine Doubling. On the coins other areas is the doubled die. So because MD is present on a coin, doesn't mean it is a doubled die. Just MD. MD is flat looking from the machine damaging the devices.

It is definitely MD. NOT a DDO.
