Pretty out of focus (likely on purpose), but that looks something like a CSA cent:

And more than likely its planted there to get people to bid on a roll worth a lot less than the winning bid will be. The scenario is common on ebay and has been for years.

I don't doubt that, I have just never seen this coin and was curious as to what it was.

It's likely a common U.S. French liberty head patriotic Civil War token. The date seems to be 1883, but it would be 1863 if it is a Civil War token. I recommend not bidding.

OK yes, I think that you nailed it @CC. Sorry for the misdirection.

The bottom right token in this post shows the same Civil War token that is visible at the end of the roll shown above, and it even shows a mis-formed 6 that looks like an 8.

Again - I'm impressed by how quickly y'all can identify a blurry, half-visible "coin".

Side note: I agree that the roll was "juiced" - unscrupulous sellers trying to jack up their prices. I've seen Mercury dimes and other bait dumped on the end of a roll, then the seller puts a headline like "Who knows what you'll find in these UNSEARCHED rolls!" I hate ebay.

Civil war token. Such coins are often put in rolls by the seller to attract interest to an "unsearched" roll.
