2019-D 25c War In The Pacific Grease Struck Through Question

montypython New Member United States 41 Posts	Posted 11/25/2019 8:34 pm Just wanted to get a second opinion that this coin was a grease struck-thru, or if not, how to describe it. I pulled it from a fresh Loomis roll the 2nd week after release, from two boxes that were entirely fresh rolls of 2019 D Guams only, so I know it's not circulation damage. Thanks for your thoughts! The hazy surfaces, missing design elements and deep rims are all signs of a Grease Filled Die strike. Nice coin! ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 11/26/2019 3:14 pm If the planchet is underweight, the the strike will be weaker on the areas where the metal it thinner. If the die is filled with some grease, it will prevent a full strike, but usually the other devices will be a bit stronger. Thus the question about the weight. Report this Post to the Staff
