So I bid on and won a very pretty toned 1890 Morgan last week and today I got a coin in the mail, except it wasn't the "pretty toned" Morgan I bid on. I contacted the ebay seller which happened to be a fairly large Gold, Silver and Jewelry shop with tons of inventory located in Florida. Unfortunately they apologized, but they couldn't find mine after searching for a while. They knew it was their fault and said that I could keep the coin they sent (this one) and they would also refund what I paid for the other Morgan that I didn't get, including the shipping.

Though I wish the coin I bid on wasn't lost, their offer was much more than fair. The refund came through within 5 minutes.

I know, there's a nasty little nick in the rim , but hey I have this Morgan for free since I already got back the $42 I paid for the other Morgan'.

So I'd appreciate it if you tell me just what you think of my free 1890 Morgan .....

AU53. the reverse rim hit at K10 may details the coin. personally small rim hits are not a problem for me especially if the coin is in an album. first its not a key area of the coin and second, in an album you can hardly see it if at all.

Well this coin has been up for 3 days now and hasn't drawn much interest, so I thought I'd throw a couple new pictures in with different lighting. I have the coin in hand and it just looks 55 to me, but the three graders have it at 53. So do these new pictures change anyone's mind?

Interesting, the toning on the original photos do not look natural, but on your photos the toning looks natural. I am at 53 with possible rim damage. Unlikely it would straight grade at 55 with the rim ding.

I'm still at 53 but agree the rim issues are a little worrisome.
