I experimented a bit with choosing a more neutral background (for a better auto-focus) and a diffusor over the light source.

Let me know if these photos are any better now

EDIT: Parts of the coin are still slightly out of focus. Its a little frustrating.

Btw. all in all I like this coin, it has the beginning of a warm toning goin on and is struck rather sharply I feel.

I bought it off ebay with a winning bid of 54€.
