I'm unsure on whether this is a low pressure strike or a massive bifacial Struck Through Grease error. As I understand, a low pressure strike shouldn't have clearly defined rims as this coin clearly does, though the lack of reeding makes me think low pressure. Report this Post to the Staff

Probably never had enough pressure on the strike to drive full reeds into the edge with the collar. Maybe if you examined it under a microscope, the coin edge would have some scrapes or light reed dents from just tapping the reeded collar during the low pressure strike. The term "die adjustment strike" is misapplied to such errors, since multiple lines of evidence indicate that the vast majority occur spontaneously during a press run.
