2 questions. What is going on with the W in We? It has horns. Would that be Die Deterioration? #2 What caused all the striated lines on the reverse? A poorly strike specimen.

Yes distorted letters, especially toward the rim can be indicative of a coin having been struck by a tired die.

The W looks like a plating issue to me, and the reverse looks like die abrasion.

The plating issue--to me--is manifest in the pebbly look. Hint of Die Deterioration on the obverse. Die abrasion on the reverse.
