1985 Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC Obverse Question

balrog1008 New Member United States 11 Posts	Posted 12/29/2025 12:22 am I found this 1985 penny, no mintmark, but the question I have is what is the line that runs underneath the IN GOD and ends at the L in liberty. The L is missing part of the letter. Is this just post mint damage or something else? Report this Post to the Staff

Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6619 Posts	Posted 12/29/2025 12:39 am It appears to be a Ridge Ring caused by Die Deterioration. I suppose it could be a long, curved plating blister that follows the curvature of the rim, but that seems much less likely than a Ridge Ring. Report this Post to the Staff
