I acquired 15 customer-wrapped dime rolls on Friday while visiting Cape Cod. Soon a Canadian dime popped up -- which I replaced with a US dime (as I always do) because I plan to spend that dime when my wife and I visit Montreal later this year. When two more Canadian times showed up in the next roll, I began to get suspicious: i.e., someone who recently returned from there had slipped those coins into the rolls. Sure enough, I kept finding more Canadian dimes (none of which contained silver). Opening the last roll, I found the tenth Canadian dime -- and a 1927 Mercury dime that the scoundrel hadn't noticed. Karma, indeed...

Someone just cost you 27 cents in the exchange rate
Good way to get rid of your Canadian change.

Merc melt value alone is almost $6, so that's a fair tradeoff.

Very unusual. At least you got a Mercury dime from it.
