I can see its a Die crack. Looking for thoughts on what may/maynot be a Flared G.

Not RDV-006 it is the normal RDV-005 reverse for an 1988 cent.

Looks like a "regular" G to me.
Looks like it may be a match to Cuds on Coins' listing for Retained Interior Die Break:
