echizento Moderator United States 23731 Posts	Posted 09/28/2010 3:41 pm If someone was putting together a low grade set of Morgan dollars they would probably want this coin. I grade it at AG-3. Otherwise it is a common date and mint and is worth melt value. Report this Post to the Staff
biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 09/28/2010 3:43 pm 1881-O is a common issue with over 5.7 million minted. In that condition, it is mainly worth silver value. If it had a CC mintmark instead of an O, you would have a coin worth about $150. Report this Post to the Staff

Some people pay a small premium for coins in very low grades but they usually want undamaged coins. I hate to hear its going to be melted because just think of what that thing was used for in its long time that it circulated Report this Post to the Staff
