Nice, did you cherrypick that, or buy it?

I was just looking through some of my older pictures and noticed it. I don't know if it's common for this year or not.

Surprise!

I think its a N-2 but not sure. that is the only doubled profile for this year I have found anyway. if it is a N-2 its a R1 coin. I really think that is what variety this is because it says it has a small 8, large stars and medium letters which it looks like this one has along with the doubled profile. here is one that was on Heritage

Bryan1315! I believe you have identified it!

Nice! I didn't realize the entire variety was a doubled profile! Thank you !

A double struck coin may be a 1 of coin but every coin struck with a double die will have the same doubling in the same place on every coin struck by that particular die

It IS a N-2. (There are only two varieties with small 8's N-1 and N-2. N-1 has two leaf points below the final A in AMERICA, N-2 has only one below the center of the A.) It is NOT a doubled die. N-2 comes with and without the doubled profile. It is not the only variety of that year that comes with and without a doubled profile. There is a nice doubled profile N-1 in Part II of the Dan Holmes collection Lot 387. He also had a doubled profile N-3 (lot 391), N-5 (lot 394) N-6 (lot 397) and a tripled profile N-6 (lot 396)
