echizento Moderator United States 23731 Posts	Posted 12/27/2010 09:59 am to the community The first coin is a German 5 Mark coin from Saxony. I would grade it at AU-55 with a value about $45.00. The second is a German Thaler from the state of Hanover, struck prior to the current mark system and would be equal to 3 marks. I would grade it at VF-30 with a value of about $40.00, Report this Post to the Staff

svslav Pillar of the Community United States 2605 Posts	Posted 12/27/2010 6:42 pm The Saxon coin is 90% silver with .8038 oz. ASW. Only 100,000 pieces were minted. In my Krause (which is 6 years old) I have $125 for XF, $175 for UNC. I'd say your coin is at least $150-200 now. The Hanover thaler ( , I'm into British monarchs!) is 75% silver, .5370 oz.
