I found your coin. Or, are they cloned fakes? My question is why on the "certificate of authenticity" the date stated is 1820?

I was told that it was from a shipwreck. If its in a NGC holder can it still be cloned?

If you look at the ID# on the slab in that So.African auction you'll see that it's identical to yours. That means that the slab, the "COA", and the coin are (limited) mass produced counterfeits. I'm afraid you have a golden colored cow-pie.

My (few years old) edition of Krause gives the value of KM#421.1 in uncirculated state of $650. Nowadays MS would bring probably over US$1000.
But that's the thing about putting a counterfeit into a fake slab - you don't have to do anything close to physical characteristics of a real coin. It could be even colored plastic - who's going to crack the slab open prior to the transaction to check the coin specs?

It's value is basically worthless at this point in time, because if you tried to sell it to someone else, as anything other than a fake, there's a very strong chance you could go to jail for fraud.
