Sap Moderator Australia 16868 Posts	Posted 11/21/2006 02:13 am Are ye sure ye've got Greenland coins? According to Krause, no 1 krone coins were issued in 1940, and no 2 kroner coins at all. Is that the "correct" spelling, as it appears on the coin? If so, then those coins are likely Iceland, not Greenland. The Iceland 1 krona 1940 is listed as "aluminium-bronze", the 2 kronur 1929 likewise. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
neuron Valued Member United States 254 Posts	Posted 11/21/2006 10:08 am Hmmm... good question. I was assuming they were from Greenland because that's what I was told. They actually say "Island Krona" (1940) and "Island Kronur" (1929). On the other side (not sure which is obverse and which is reverse on these) there is a shield with a cross in the middle and a "Cx" to the left of the shield and a "R" to the right.
