I picked this up on ebay to fill a hole in my 7070 album:

How-Did-I-Do-On-This-1802-Draped-Bust-Cent?
How-Did-I-Do-On-This-1802-Draped-Bust-Cent?

The seller estimated it as VG or VG+. I figure it's between a G06 and a VG08.

I got into a bit of a bidding war and ended up paying $137.50, which I figured wasn't too bad if a true VG08 is currently listed at $180. The coin does have some scratches and rim damage, however, so I'm really not sure how that affects the grading and/or value.

What do you think?

Thanks!

I agree with your G06 on the grade. She's a fine old gal. I especially like the 1/000 reverse. Bottom line - if you like it, you got a good deal.

S-228 R-2. Looks like a good 6 to me as well. Here is a comparable one bids at 200 right now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1802-Large-...t_500wt_1202

Rather less than a coin that's fresher than 209 years old.

Nice pickup.

Hey -- nothing wrong with redundancy, as long as it's good news...

These coins wear gracefully--it still has a lot of eye appeal.
