cd_god Valued Member United States 297 Posts	Posted 11/04/2011 8:17 pm Buy the coin, not the holder. I've heard that here a few times and I think this one qualifies. While the seller doesn't show the holder with the cert number they state it is PCGS AU-58 and even CAC verified. I personally think this is an awful looking weak strike SLQ. Concave head, missing shield rivets, and horrible looking date and step area. While the 1924D is a harder date I don't think I could justify spending more than $150 if even that on this one (they want $350) At least it isn't horribly spotted or black. http://www.ebay.com/itm/12080281035....m1423.l2649 Report this Post to the Staff

Had he sold it raw everyone would see the problems with that coin and probably consider it more like an XF coin. With the slab he can legitimately sell it as AU58 and there will definitely be people that buy the slab without looking as carefully as they would otherwise. Report this Post to the Staff
