Grade This 1917 Standing Liberty Quarter / SLQ (Type I)

barryg Pillar of the Community United States 5883 Posts	Posted 03/16/2012 1:16 pm I picked up this Type I 1917 SLQ at a coin show last weekend as an upgrade for my 7070 album: I figured that getting a nice toned example would lessen the odds that I would end up with yet another "harshly cleaned" coin. Plus, I thought it would make a nice companion piece to the other SLQ I have in my album: Anyway, the dealer graded the Type I at XF and I picked it up for a little over $100. With so much toning, I find it hard to compare with the grading examples over at PCGS (plus, they don't have many examples of the Type I to compare against). So, what say you? afcop13 Pillar of the Community United States 1409 Posts	Posted 03/16/2012 5:22 pm I try to buy coins in this condition for my Dansco when I can, and yours is similar to my 1917 T-1, but a little better. I'd say either EF 40 or 45. Either way, I like the look. Report this Post to the Staff
