I knew a guy in Louisville who used to make these things. He's made hundreds if not thousands of them over the years. They are made by altering the 0 on a 1910 coin.
If you altered a 1903 the spacing of the digits would not be right
You know, in all seriousness, I have a copy of the 1956 Blue Book by R. S. Yeoman, and back then it listed the 1913 nickel as having six known specimens.
I don't know if any of you have tried to call the posted telephone number for the seller of this 1913 Liberty nickel, but I called three times. Each time someone answers saying someing inaudible and then hangs-up. It did not sound like a recording.
