I wish I could download sum, however, I've got an antique computer and have tried in vein to do so to no avail! Sorry, but you'll have to wait till I get a Mac. Glenn

Your 47ML is outstanding!
My 50C colection is still in the first stages..nothing pre-67 worth post a pic of. Just trying to fill holes for now!

Just a general question: Based upon mintage, why are the '54 halves not valued higher? In that particular year, there were no varieties that I know of, so any mid to high range MS should demand a premium... or am I way off base?

Hi Staircase, I believe that the silver melts have made pricing by mintages somewhat invalid... dealers have held on the 1954's as they were worth a premium and melted others with a higher mintage since they were more common...it is impossible to tell now what the relative populations are.
Hi Stevex6... I'm not 100% sure of that 1948 Wide Date (relections from silver coins sometimes make it hard to tell) ... If you can provide a more close-up of the '948 and ring' I can do better.... The way to really tell is if you can draw a line tangentially from the very top of the '9' to the bottom of the ring and if the top of the '4' is close to the line, then it is a high 4, and if the '4' is a ways from the line it is a low 4. Charlton's 66th has good pictures of the two different 4 positions on Page 186.

I'm not sure if this will help? (same photo, zoomed-in ... probably a bit too blurry?) ... when I compare it to the Charlton catalogue photo, I'm now thinking it might be a Narrow Date (ND)? EDIT => ahahahahaha => the photo didn't end-up being any bigger! (sorry about that ... I'll try again a bit later) ... funny!

oh man! ahahahahah ... brutal ... it must be kinda like watching a beetle trying to flip itself over off of its back! (anyway ... I may give up and then merely tell everybody that "some dude told me it was a Wide Date")

Steve, It looks like a 'low' 4 and narrow date to me.

Stevex6, I have to change my original take on the 1948, the new pictures allow a better analysis..... Sorry, it is a Low 4, Narrow Date. The Wide Date High 4's do appear on E-Bay if you want one...

Thanks Guys for the compliments, every once in a while I need to know where I'm at in my Collection. Feedback from you folks always lets me know! Anyone can do it, all it takes is lots of patience and tons of searching! Glenn

I had a recent find of the 1974 missing S and not too much info for this one. The artist was Thomas Shingles and there were some which have no visible S marked on them. Not sure how many but I would love to know!
