hey guys I'm curious in finding half dollars or older dollars for face value because I'm very interated to find the coins I just dont want to pay the high $$$

Well...the sad news is Halves and pre loonie dollars are no longer in general circulation in Canada. Not to say that a customer will not bring some in to deposit to their bank. Your best bet is to ask each time you go in to a bank to see if they have any halves or pre loonie dollar coins. You might get lucky.

You could try advertising in your local paper, craigslist or maybe our local online paper in the classifieds. Canadian banks can not order boxes of halves like they can in the states.

Good luck with the search and I hope you find some at face value.

I have been suffering with the same dilemma for quite some time. I love the Halves and nickel dollars for Canadian and US coinage alike. I have managed to get my hands on around 10 halves in almost 3 years of coin roll hunting. One teller held them for me. It seems that the banks in my area do not see them deposited to often so I play the waiting game. :)

I am in the same boat with Halves.... very hard to find.
Mr. Canada How many post are need to buy or sell with other forum members?
