Getting Dirt Off Of Ancients Using Nail Polish Remover?

Tyler S New Member United States 38 Posts	Posted 11/09/2011 6:11 pm Hello everyone, I recently bought a couple of inexpensive uncleaned ancients. They are pretty dirty and have been in hydrogen peroxide for a couple of days. I know nail polish remover contains acetone ( and many other things ) , so could I use this without it damaging the coin too much? I know I should just go buy the real deal but I don't currently have time to run out to the store. Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff

There's no telling what the other chemicals in the nail polish remover will do to the coins and there's no going back once it is done. I know...it is hard to wait....but think of the poor coins!
