Sweet, great page. Looks like single, opened sets are bidding upwards of $700. That's a tidy profit, even with fees.

Does it seem that "short time" auctions are doing better than "long time"?

Christmas is coming soon!

Yeah, I just posted on the other thread that single opened sets have been selling for around $800 and boxed sets of 5 are selling for around $3500. There are outliers, though -- one single boxed set just sold for almost $1700!

It was so nice of the mint to put out another limited edition run of coins so that the ebay pros and online coin sellers can make a fortune off the coins that so many true collectors were unable to purchase. I see people are already breaking up the sets to sell the two unique coins. Meanwhile, so many true collectors will never have an opportunity to own a set, even though they tried all day to place an order.

It's a sad commentary on our times and people's greed that so many of the people who clogged up the phone and internet systems had no intention of doing anything but turn a quick profit on the misfortune of the real collector.

Too bad the mint does not allow people who have been "subscription" customers for many years the opportunity to order one set in advance of the general public and ebay resellers.

I was lucky enough to get 2 sets, one for me and one for the wife, of the coins which have not yet been shipped. I have no intention of ever selling any of the sets or individual coins.

It's not unlike concert tickets or any other commodity where demand exceeds supply. Someone is going to try to make money on it.

And yes, it sucks.

Best you can do is know the system and how to beat (or at least compete with) the scalpers/dealers. I was able to acquire 3 sets. I intend to sell one to pretty much pay for the other two, which will be permanent members of my collection.
Rest in Peace
