Thanks for your feedback. You are correct that I have little basis for comparison. You stated that you've ordered from 10 different sites with good results, could you share those sites (here or in a pm) so that I can check them out.

cheers

There is nothing like the buzz of a coin show. I have been to coin shows in Austria, Germany and the UK and I had never bought online before about this time last year, so when I turned up it was amazing, just being able to walk around for an hour just looking and then going to see what I could get.

ebay can have a little hunting excitement, but sometimes it just gets annoying, the most fun I've had was with Notgeld where in a weekend I bought about 20, putting bids on, waiting for counterbids, ready to go to my max if it happened, never really did figure out how to put a max bid in without it coming up straight away!

The only coins I have bought online are junk silver War Nickels and a few Buffalo nickels. I was pleased!

emh,

I'd be glad to share some of my other opinions. You don't have a "pm/email" link, but if you get one up I'll pm you.

I don't think its entirely appropriate for me to start talking about all the different companies in this thread. I somewhat regret my inflammatory post regarding mcqueeny coins, but at the time I felt like I wanted to say something as I think they are really high in prices.

I am 300 miles from a coin shop or coin show any direction. So, I am relegated to buying online. I do NOT buy on ebay or use paypal. Both do nothing but add cost. I have been ripped off for $850 on Ebay/Paypal previously...so...they are no longer used.

Of interest, there are two forums that I buy on and one dealer that I explicitly trust.

I prefer to pay by postal money order. Cheap ($1) and easy to cash (just deposit in your checking/savings account). If lost, it takes some work, but they will make a refund.
